Postdocs

Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs) and Postdoctoral Fellows are individuals in the preparatory or learning stages of their careers who are appointed to meet particular and defined needs of a project or program under the supervision of a regular faculty member.

Both are intended to enhance and support the academic and research development of the appointee and postdocs engage in high-quality, interdisciplinary research.  Postdoctoral Research Associates are employees of the university, who are eligible for a full range of benefits. Postdoctoral Fellowships are a special category of postdocs who bring their own funding to the university or who are funded through NIH training grants.

2023-2024 Postdocs pose with Dean Ashish Jha (center) and Academic Dean Francesca Beaudoin.

Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellowships are available primarily through training programs in the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies, the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research, and the Center for Addiction & Disease Risk Exacerbation. Open Postdoctoral Fellow and PDRA positions are listed on our Open Positions page. Additional information on postdoc appointments is available on the University’s Postdoctoral Affairs website.
